We feel that the immediate goal of early
childhood education should be to instill in young children a love of
learning and an internal desire to seek knowledge and understanding of
our world. We believe that a Montessori environment encourages a sense
of self-confidence and self-discipline along with a sense of
responsibility. These qualities enable children to develop their ability
to concentrate, make choices, enjoy quiet, be independent and
successfully participate in a community. These qualities are the
foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Gabe is thriving in school and attends
Ridgecrest in Shoreline's Highly Capable Program. He clearly had an
academic advantage when he started kindergarten, thanks is large part
to attending Olympic View Montessori. Keep up the good work! --Kirsten
The boys are enjoying summer, but also
looking forward to school. My son even told someone when they asked
if he likes his school.... "I love it!" He even threw his hands up in
the air! Just reiterates what I've known all along: you're doing a
great job and we love your school. Thanks for taking such great care
in helping to shape and develop our kids into intelligent, caring,
respectful, independent (just a few of the many positive adjectives
that apply) big kids. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Thank you
--- Tina.My 5 year old
entered your classroom as a very shy, cautious and very "unsure of
himself" kid. He emerged in the spring as a confident, enthusiastic
social butterfly who is now at the top of his class in kindergarten
because of all the skills (social and academic!) he learned in your
school. Thank you so much for the difference OVM made! --- Julie

Dr. Maria Montessori founded
the Case dei Bambini in 1908 for the poorest of children in Rome, Italy.
Dr. Montessori's discovery of the learning potential of children under 6
years of age – an innovative concept in 1908 – attracted international
attention. In 1929 Dr. Montessori founded her teacher training program.
The Montessori Method of
teaching grew internationally and continues as an educational force
throughout the world today.
